Coconut Chewies a sweet

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as almonds or walnuts)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Prepare the Mixture:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, flour, and salt. Stir until everything is well mixed.
    • If you’re using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them into the mixture.
  3. Form the Chewies:
    • Use a spoon or your hands to shape the mixture into small mounds or balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly firm to the touch.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Let the coconut chewies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
