°A bowl with a capacity of
3/4 litre containing flour
°One 190 ml capacity cup containing sugar
°1 teaspoon salt
°1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
°1/2 teaspoon baking soda
°A bowl with a capacity of
1/4 litre containing buttermilk
°One 80 ml capacity cup containing butter (no substitutions)
°2 teaspoons vanilla
°4 large eggs
°One 190 ml capacity cup containing sugar
°One 80 ml capacity cup containing butter (no substitutions)
°3 tablespoons of water
°2 teaspoons vanilla
*Preparation
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease and flour a 3 liter centimetric tube mould or fondue container.
In a large bowl, combine all the cake ingredients. beat at low speed to moistened, then beat for 3 minutes at speed.
Pour dough to prepared pan.
Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until cake tests are done.
For butter sauce; in saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients over low heat; cook until butter melts, stirring occasionally (do not boil).
When cake is cooked, remove from oven and pierce with large fork or long thin straw; pour sauce over hot cake.
Let stand for 5 minutes or until the sauce is absorbed
