Ultimate Bacon Double Cheeseburger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • For the Burgers:
    • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1 tsp smoked paprika
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 8 slices of bacon (cooked to your preference)
    • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • For Assembly:
    • 2 large burger buns
    • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
    • 2 tbsp ketchup
    • 1 tbsp mustard (optional)
    • Lettuce leaves
    • Tomato slices
    • Pickles
    • Sliced red onion (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bacon: Cook bacon in a skillet or oven until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  2. Mix and Shape Patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Gently mix to combine, then divide into 4 equal portions. Shape into thin patties slightly larger than your buns (they’ll shrink when cooking).
  3. Cook the Patties:
    • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes per side.
    • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt.
  4. Toast the Buns: Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet for added texture.
  5. Assemble the Burgers:
    • Spread mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on the bottom bun.
    • Layer with lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
    • Add one patty, two slices of bacon, and another patty with cheese.
    • Top with the remaining bun.
  6. Serve: Serve immediately with fries, onion rings, or your favorite side dish.
